There a limited (countable) amount of quests in Alter Aeon. They vary in difficulty from 1 to 9. This number can be misleading as it is based on the number of players who completed the quest instead of how really difficult the quest may be. Having said this, a completed quest is for ever part of your character history.
You can view a person's quests, called deeds, including your own, with the following two commands: 1) finger [player name] ex: fi ouch - or simply - 2) deeds [player name] ex: deeds barona.
In general it is okay to "get stuck" on a complicated deed. Its like forming a puzzle. Sometimes two or more players who "got stuck" but figured out different bits and pieces get together and it leads to something... often to a solution.
The quests vary in brain difficulty and enemy challenge. Also, its one thing to get directions about a quest/deed and another to actually go out and do it.
Here I leave others with a blueprint of the deeds I have been able to achieve myself that per chance it may help a soul achieve its goal. Several friends have offered to help me create this quest help section as well and I await their input with impatience.
Note: Quests are listed here in the order that I did them myself
Defeated the marauding bear of the Newbie Forest
- There is an evil bear that lurks in the newbie area and he needs to be put down !
- The map of the newbie forest listed above in section "inacurate maps" can give you a general idea of where to find the bear (even though newbie forest layout has changed).
- He's basically in a cave somewhere south-west-ish of the forest
- The newbie forest is directly west of old mud school.
- If you started in the new islands area, you will have to wait until you get to ralnoth (off of islands).
- From the main recall in ralnoth, i.e., the room with Thantos The Executioner in it, you go 8 south and then head west till you hit the forest.
- Once you find the bear, you have to kill him.
- If someone else is helping out, you have to hit the bear at least once during combat - either physical or magic attack.
- If you know butchering, the bear will give you a decent amount of meat. Warning: Any meat butchered off the bear is poisonous so sacrifice it! Do not eat it !
- The bear is level 6. So don't try to go take him at level 1 or 2 or 3 alone and stuff.
- Once you kill the bear you can keep killing him as you play. You won't get more gold for the deed or the deed ever again, but the bear will still be good experience at beggining levels.
- It is a good idea to go to the bank and drop off gold any time you get gold from a deed. From "unholy temple of Dentin" (way point room with Thantos in it), go 2 south, 3 west, and 3 south. You will be at the bank of ralnoth
- (See directions section above for bank locations in other towns and other directions)

- This deed is not that hard but is a good introduction
Sabotaged the great siege engine
Obtained the silver ring of the Gatekeeper
- This deed use to be a reboot only quest
- There was so much controversy about it that the quest became available at anytime now (not just the first person who gets it after a reboot)
Assaulted the elderly
- I am ashamed of this quest as I only wanted neutral or good aligned deeds
- Simply put, you have to kill the old man at the way point called: A Small Meditation Chamber (small med)
- He's not that hard to kill
- However simply hitting him once during a fight will give you the deed even if its someone else who killed him.
- In my case, I was the tank of a group and someone in the group attacked him without asking anyone else
- Note: A person in AA who goes into "Tank" mode when grouped will automatically try to save other members of the group from damage and get all of the monsters in the room to attack him - the tank. This can be very helpful in groups since a healer will automatically know who is getting most of the damage. And other group members can change clothes to be better at damage or casting spells - since they dont have to worry about how good their armor is (the tank is getting hit not them)
Rescued a soldier of the Naginag Combine from imprisonment
- This deed is a lot harder then it looks
- I tried this deed in groups of 3 (me and 2 others) with just about every single person in the game I know and team with
- Every time we made it one room away from the prisonner soldier, stayed in the ambush there, and had to recall out.
- Finally, with Quin and Lexie who were in the same clan at the time, I was able to get the deed. It was still very tough. The only reason we succeeded was that we knew each other in combat so well that we already knew half of the stuff that normally has to be communicated between people
- So advice: Only attempt this deed with people you are really used to playing with. You will get ambushed but a single room away from the soldier and overwhelmed and have to know what your partners are doing right off the back.
