Long ago, ancient giants disguised themselves as gods and enslaved a race
of people that became known as the Aztecs. Using blood magic garnered from
the living sacrifices of their subjects, these false gods extended their
lives far beyond their natural span. Chief among these was Huitzilpochtli,
a fearsome warrior-mage known to wield the powers of fire.

They continued their bloody reign until Don Milano slew the pretender god
Tlaloc instigating the Aztecs to rebel against the false deities that held
them in thrall. Many of the giants were slain, but the mightiest retreated
to their extraplanar dominions to plot and scheme a return to power.
