East of the lower K'tinga River and south of the the Dje Road is
a triangular mixture of forest and wetlands. The more hospitable
northern portion is a dryland decidious woodland called the Mengaw Forest,
named after an extinct tribe of murlocks. However, the Forest directly
borders on the Murlock Swamp to the south, and the transition is quite
abrupt. This unstable region is populated by a veritable cornucopia of
dangerous creatures.  Giant wasps, vampiric vines and strange fey
creatures pose serious hazards to navigation. Many adventurers who manage
to survive the onslaughts of noxious monsters fall prey to quicksand or
simply get lost. The Naginag Combine recommends paying the negligible
toll to traverse either the Dje Road or the Trollway for your safety and
convenience.

It is interesting to note that the Murlock Swamp was once far more
dangerous years ago, when it populated by forest trolls.  Fortuanately,
these feral beasts were wiped out by murlock tribes in the Troll War
over a century ago.
