In the eastern part of the world, nestled high in the Ash Mountain range, a
quiet serene lake lies hidden in a wonderous green valley.  Sheltered from
the elements by steep mountain walls, this valley is home to many deer and
other wildlife that would otherwise have great difficulty surviving in the
winter.

Glacial meltwater provides runoff for cascading waterfalls and crystal clear
rivers.  A beautiful blue lake is also maintained by these waters, and sits
at one end of the valley between two low lying peaks.

Rumors abound however, of deadly creatures and chaotic forces that also
inhabit this valley.  A metal monstrosity has been sighted wandering through
the trees, and an horrific creature occasionally comes forth from its cave to
feed on the deer that make this place thier winter home.

And the beautiful lake - its crystal clear waters fade so quickly into an
inky blackness that mirrors so well it's foul inhabitants.  Occasionally, a
brave warrior tells a tale of looking out across the lake and spying a
hideous serpent, the color of jade, swimming through the lake.  They speak,
of it whispering into their minds, and beckoning them closer.

So many brave men have died in attempts to banish that foul serpent,
Rhug'guari, the Jade Dragon.  So few have even come close to succeeding.
