Actually, the largest group to date was not in fact run by a blind person. 
The largest (mortal) group ever was run by one of my friends at Utah State
University, who wrote a tintin script to create level 0 characters with a
single command.  He asked if he could run an experiment with a huge number
of multis, and when I gave him permission he created about a hundred of
them, formed a group, and killed the green dragon at level 0 using magic
missile.
