Is a "newbie" character who isn't really a newbie getting a few gifts such
a big problem? It would take a long, long time to level just on gifts,
there's a cooldown period on both gifter and receiver for a reason. Getting
one cap or 400 gold every half hour or so is hardly game breaking, and it
does provide a welcoming feeling for true newbies. I do see the point about
helper points on the leaderboards though. While I don't mind it at all, I
could understand the argument that the leaderboard turns them in to a
competition, instead of something which just shows who helps newbies the
most, especially if they do count for the overall rank leaderboard.
