While I agree that event quests only became popular in the last 8-9 years,
I also would like to point out that A LOT of event quests have gone in to
the game in that time frame. Additionally I don't think this is very
comparable to soulstones and more similar to fame, in which great efforts
have been made to make sure everyone is on even footing (via things like
reracking and removal of unaccessible fame). 

I think its fair that people should be rewarded for participating in these
events, thats why they got deeds, exp  gear and gold for participating in
them. Nobody wants the deeds removed, they just want the event deeds which
are no longer obtainable to not count twoards the leaderboard to give
people a fair shot at competing on that leaderboard.

If it's literally impossible to compete on it then its also literally
pointless to even have a leaderboard to begin with.

As a comparison, Wow handles achievements people can no longer obtain by
listing them as what are called feats of strength. These are like
achievements only they don't count twoards achievement points as it wouldnt
be fair to people who like to compete in that area.
