Keywords are: 'taste flavor flavour'
Usage:
taste <object>
You can use the 'taste' command to taste objects you may be
holding. Typically, only foods and herbs have strongly pronounced
flavors, though some types of spell components, potions, wood and
minerals may have flavors as well.
Taste can be useful when seasoning food with the 'cooking' skill. You
can taste food to see if it has too much or too little seasoning.
Certain flavors of food have minor benefits:
- Mint and pine-tasting foods help reduce poisoning.
- Bitter foods brace individuals against being stunned.
- Spicy foods help recover from being chilled.
- Sweet and delicious foods help raise flagging morale.
- Delicious, rich and smokey foods boost morale.
- Sharp, pine-tasting and sour foods help speed recovery from disease.
Be careful! Burnt, vile and unpaltable foods can make you nauseous!
These effects are more pronounced with food prepared by the
cooking skill.
Tasting an item may also help indicate the presence of poison,
as many poisons taste bitter. However, not all bitter-tasting
foods are poisonous, and not all poisons taste bitter. Be careful:
tasting poisoned food may give you a mild case of poisoning!
