Drop, get, and put operate on objects.

Drop or discard allow you to drop an object that you are carrying.

Get allows you to pick up an object that is on the ground, or get an object
from a container.  When getting from a container, the container can either
be on the ground or carried by you.

Put allows you to put an object that you are carrying into a container, or
to put an object on a table.  Tables must be on the ground for you to put
stuff on them, but containers may be either carried or on the ground.
