Exploration points are points that you get for exploring new areas on
the game.  Each area has a number of exploration points available in
it, and you can collect that many points from each area.  Note that
you cannot easily gain points simply by speedwalking through an area.
You also do not need to collect every item or kill every monster in
an area to get all the exploration points. Typically when you get an
exploration point, you'll get gold for it, and you may get an
exploration achievement.

Exploration points are necessary to advance in the Cartographers'
Guild.

It normally takes a few levels before you start getting exploration
points.  Once you start getting exploration points you'll be able to
see how many points you have, as well as how many points are in areas,
using the 'points' command.

You can see how many points are available in an area with the 'where'
command, you can also see how many exploration points you have with
the 'points' command.
