the acronym GPC from time to time.

GPC means Gold Per Credit when converting between gold and credits
for various transactions.  For example:

1000 GPC means that each credit costs 1000 gold, or each credit is worth 1000 gold.
500 GPC means that each credit costs 500 gold, or each credit is worth 500 gold.
