The 'connect' option allows you to connect explicitly to a given channel.
The 'listen' option allows you to actively listen to a specific channel.

If the channel you want to listen or connect to is private, a password
may be required to connect to it.

A character can only be connected to one channel at a time, but may also
listen to any number of other channels.
