Damroll determines how hard you will hit, IE how much damage you will do per
hit.  Damage is also affected by strength and dieroll of weapon being used.

Hitroll is a whole different concept.  Hitroll allows you to penetrate
armor better, and helps you to defeat an enemy's dodge, parry, and shield
block skills.  If you are annoying, missing, or being blocked by your enemy
a lot, you should probably get more hitroll.

You can view your combat prowess with 'show combat'.
