Druids can enhance the cast level of a spell using the 'defile' skill.  This
ability allows a druid to drain the life force from any outdoor area and store
it for later use.  Draining the life energy from an area richer in flora and
fauna supplies a more powerful defiling.

All plantlife in the immediate vicinity of a defiling is extinguished.  Like
picked flowers, plants will appear vibrant and healthy for a time but will
yield no usable resources such as herbs or food.  Small animals such as
insects are also slain, while wild game will flee the area.  Exposure to a
defiling causes pain, so any nearby creatures who witness the defiling will
attack the druid.

A druid can only maintain the energy for one defile at a time.  If a druid
wishes to defile again, he must first release the existing defiling.  As the
defile spell ticks down, it decreases in strength.  Druid should use their
defiled energy as soon as possible for maximum effect.

Defiled energy can be used for any druid spell.  The spell level of the
defile is added to the cast level of the druid.
