Some fortune tellers are charlatans, but there are others that can make
minor predictions about the future. For a small fee, they can perform
a reading with cards.

Readings of this sort are vague, but they can give a hint of insight
into what is in store for the near future so you can mentally prepare.

The tarot deck is also used in stud and draw-style gambling games,
typically with four players.

The deck itself consists of 4 suits of 12 cards each, with 4 ranks:
common, noble, royal and cosmic. Each gives a fixed amount of weal or
woe (or both) to its suit depending on its rank.

In addition, there are 6 Universal Dooms that function as wild cards,
for a total of 54 cards. They also have a rank, but belong to no suit.
Instead, their weal and woe is added to the scores of all the suits
in a player's hand.

In play, the player with the highest weal in a single suit wins. If
there is a tie, the woe for that suit is added to the weal and the
sums are compared again. In the case of a tie here, the suits follow
a hierarchy: grove < blade < flame < skull
