Title: a book entitled, 'The Rubicon Dynasty, volume 3'

The Rubicon capitol was attacked by the Deep Dragon in 389 RD. The dragon
sent an army of svirfneblin commanded by drow captains and laid siege to
the city. The Rubicon mustered their forces in Thalos and broke the siege
in 393 RD, driving the dragon underground and into obscurity.

In 440 RD, another army of hill giants and ogres attacked Rubicon
territory, this time striking Sussex. The village's defenses held until
they could be reinforced by the bulk of the Rubicon armies

In 443 RD, the Rubicons signed a mutual defense pact with Clan
Shadowstrike, which had recently been ousted from Mount Zendular by the
witches of Karmekios.

Hostilities between the Rubicon Principality and the Kingdom of Thalenwood
came to boiling point, and in 492 RD they declared war on one another. The
Rubicons won several early victories over the elves, driving them from
their northern villages in the Thalenwood. The Kingdom of Avalon rallied
to assist the elves, but even their mighty armies were unable to halt the
Rubicon advances.

The year 493 RD marked the end of the Rubicon nation. Ironically, at the
time the Rubicon Principality was in its heyday. They were the strongest
nation on the continent. The Rubicons were waging war against their
neighbors and winning. A Rubicon army led by Tragen Shadowstrike was
invading Karmekios on Mount Zendular, and another army led by Vesden the
Conquerer was laying siege to Linholt. A third army led by Lord Rugen was
on its way to the Sinar'i Valley.

The Sinar'i elves feared that the Rubicons were unstoppable, so they
constructed a warpstone catalyst to tear open a portal into Chaos to
respond to the invasion. Their necromancers had been in communication with
the demons residing in Chaos and believed that they could negotiate a
counterinvasion of demons to confront the Rubicons. They were successful.
With the portal opened in Ironseed, demons poured out of the portal and
headed eastward, rampaging through the heart of Rubicon lands. After
Thalos fell to the demonic horde, they threatened to invade the East
Thalenwood despite protests from the Sinar'i elves. At that point, the
Sinar'i realized that the demons were completely out of control. The
Thalenwood elves managed to halt their assault at their borders, and, with
the assistance of the Avalonians, drive them back to the portal or into
hiding.

With the core of the Rubicon population and royalty destroyed, the
Principality effectively ceased to function as a nation. The inhabitants
of Rubicon, Ironseed and Thalos were utterly annihilated. Rugen's army was
slain by the Chaos demons, and Tragen's army was defeated by the witches of
Karmekios. Vesden successfully conquered Linholt and set up his own
government. The people of Ogden and Sunnyvale abandoned their villages.
Sussex is the only Rubicon holding that retains any identity of its former
nation, and, even then, it is essentially an independent village.
