In the Wasserwald is a tribe of bearfolk, called beorns. They are said to
be ordinary bears that have lived long in a region saturated with fairy
magic, and that with age they become as intelligent as men. They are said
to be peaceful, unlike the wild polar beorns of the White Coast.
