Alter Aeon Rules of Conduct
Rule 12.4 - Thou shalt not kill steal
Kill stealing happens when one player is fighting some monster, and
another player shows up unannounced, joins the battle, and lands the
killing blow. When this happens, the experience, quests, and fame
from the monster goes to the wrong player. You should attempt to
avoid kill stealing if at all possible, if only because it's the
polite thing to do.
Kill stealing is considered a minor offense, and there are cases where
it needs to be done and other cases where it simply can't be avoided.
There's also a lot of grey area with kill stealing, especially when a
mob may take an extended period of time or number of runs to kill.
On the one hand, you should avoid camping, whether to hog resources
or to interfere with other players. On the other hand, you should
give others a reasonable time to complete tasks or make their kill.
If a god makes a decision, they will have to look at the times and
intents of the various players. If both parties are deemed to be
jerks, both parties may be penalized.
The best advice for players is to be reasonably respectful of other
players in an area, and to make your kills fast and clean such that
there is less chance of kill stealing.
Note that you can use the 'nokillsteal' command to prevent others from
stealing your kills.
