Rule 15.3 - Informational - penalties

Standard penalties for breaking rules are:

Channel Ban   - Your ability to use a particular channel is removed.
Spam Flagging - Ability to see/talk with other players restricted.
Asshole Flag  - Ability to see/talk with other players severely restricted.
Silence       - Other players can no longer hear anything you say.

Freezing      - Your character is not allowed to do anything at all.
Archiving     - A single character is locked and not allowed to log in.
Account Lock  - None of your characters can be logged in.
Siteban       - The game will reject connections from your IP address.

These are somewhat in order of increasing harshness.  In general we try to
choose penalties that fit the crime or make the most sense in context.

Special penalties for special cases:

Disconnect    - You are disconnected, without logging off your character.
Booting       - You are forced to recall and quit.
Eq Purge      - Some or all or your equipment is destroyed.
Deletion      - Your characters, and all your stuff, disappears.  Forever.

- Disconnect and boot are primarily used to deal with buggy clients or
  bots that may be causing problems.  They're rarely used as an actual
  penalty for wrongdoing, simply because it doesn't make sense for most
  things.

- Equipment purging usually only happens if equipment has been duplicated,
  which can occasionally happen during crashes.  It can also happen when
  there's a bug which allows construction of broken equipment.

- Deletion is extremely rare, because it's easier to just permanently
  lock the character and account.
