Item description:

This shell once protected a large water beetle.  The shell is about two and a
half feet wide and four feet long and you can see the spots where the
beetle's legs and head were when it was alive.  Obviously, some magic is at
work here to make it possible to use this shell right away without it having
to be worked on first.  This particular shell is very beautiful.  It's mostly
black, but as you turn it about in the light, there's a dark prismatic effect
as swirls of blue, green, red, and yellow dance about its black surface.
