These steel discs are about a foot in diameter. There are joined around by
four leather straps, forming an X-shape as one pair goes over the shoulders
and the other pair around the belly, with one disc in the center of the
chest and the other in the center of the back. They are designed to be
lightweight, for swift, acrobatic styles of combat.
