You know immediately what this is from looking at it - the tales and
fables of your youth spring to mind:  it's clearly someone's cheap copy
of the magical girdle of the King of the Fire Giants. The length of
rope is as thick as your arm and quite heavy.  Long enough to wrap
around your waist several times before being loosely tied, it seems
exactly as described in the stories all children hear.  If only it were
the real thing... or is it?  A momentary glimmer of fire from one of
the frayed ends catches your attention for a moment.
