Item description:

The blade attached to the end looks to be forged from the fabled black arjale
found only in the deepest of mines in the underdark and lower planes.  The
bastard stepchild of mithril, it is not quite as strong, but is the favored
metal of many evil weaponsmiths due to its intrinsic evil alignment, the
opposite of mithril.  Back to the blade - it is actually three blades
separated by equal angles around the shaft, each sharpened to a razors edge
and brought together to a smooth point at the tip.  The blades widen and hook
outward at the end, probably to do maximum damage to an enemy after piercing
them.

The long wooden shaft is not made of any wood you recognize.  It is pitch
black, almost invisible in this light.  Very sturdy, stiff, and strong, the
finish is marred and scratched, but the wood itself seems no worse for wear.
