Item description:

A rod of wood, almost five feet long and two inches thick.  The wood is a
straight-grained brown variety.  The end of the staff is shaped like the paw
of a large cat, complete with claws.  The whole staff has been coated with a
transparent layer of crystal, hardening and preserving it.
