Item description:

The scale consists of a thin rectangle with a spring inside.  The top of
the spring is attached to bead on the outside of the scale that slides up
and down to indicate the weight of whatever hangs from the hook on the
bottom of the spring.  A weighing pan is suspended from the end hook.  The
entire device is made of brass.  The scale can weigh up to fifty pounds.
