The letter is unsigned and yellow with age. It is crispy to the 
touch and it reads:

I am mortally wounded and have little time left so I'll be brief. 
The entrance to the prison of the chaos soul, a creature of great 
destructive powers, is inside this house. Madmen are seeking this 
place so they can tame it or worse, just free it so it can fulfill 
dark dreams of chaos and destruction. I tracked one such man to this 
house where I ran my dagger through his heart before he succeeded 
in his attempts to free the spirit. I was wounded in the struggle 
but before I die I will perform my final task.

I have magically sealed the entrance to the part of the house where 
the portal that transports you to the prison is. The only key that 
can open the sealed door is entrusted to an old enemy known as the 
Gambler. He is a cunning fiend, one of Satan's most dangerous 
lieutenants. He had brought back many greedy souls to hell just by 
the roll of the dice. Bound to me for sparing his life a long time 
ago, he will guard this house from further attempts to free the entity.
