The silk for the web is secreted from the spider's abdomen as a liquid and
dries immediately into a solid, clear strand when it touches the air.  This is
a partial piece of a spider's web.  It is torn and ragged and sticks to your
fingers.  The ripped ends of the silk flutter in the breeze and catch on
anything they come in contact with.  A spider can recycle and reuse its web by
eating any part of it that is ruined.  You're not totally sure you can do
anything with it, but it might be worth experimenting with.
