Across the cover are the words, 'Magical Items of Summoning'.

There are various items throughout the world if one were to use would
summon a magical creature for a time. These pets might cast spells upon you
or protect or simply just assist you in battle.

The first of these items we will discuss is the wooden idol the druid gives
you for helping them with a few quests. This idol summons a hunting
mountain lion, which will assist you in battle.

The next item is the 'book of summoning', which will call upon a tin-man,
who will also assist the user in battle.

Another item is the silver hawk shaped figurine of wonder, which will
summon a silver hawk that will assist in battle and will try to cast fly on
anyone in the group.

Another item is the griffin shaped figurine of wonder, which summons a
griffin that doesn't assist in battle, but will try to soothe the wounds
and cure any group members of poison.
