You can't seem to figure out what its for.  You look in what seems to be an
eyepiece, but can only make out ghostly images and a lot of black.  You
fiddle to the knobs, but to no avail. Finally, you decide that the item is
probably just junk.
It does, however, have a nice tube on it that you can grab easily, and a
solid metal base that might make a good weapon...
