The sheet of paper covered in handwriting appears to be part of a journal.

Even after months of apprenticeship here, the Drith still give me the chills.
They are underworld creatures that the master has called up to act as guards.
I asked if they are the spirits of dead warriors, but I was told that
description does not quite fit. They are more like a force of nature, created
from dead warriors' sense of duty.
