Item description:

A very old, but still solid shield.  It has metal handholds on the inside for
you to grab onto, and the ancient wood has somehow resisted the various
insects and vermin that eat wood.  It is not warped, and is covered in a
thin layer of glassy substance that seems to protect the wood beneath.
