Item description:

This wand is made of wood, the grain following the shaft upwards.  It
tapers to the diameter of your littlest finger at the top, where a small
metal ball is placed.  Traces of blue light follow the grains of the wood
to the ball upon the tip of the wand, which hums as it absorbes the energy.
Every few seconds the hum grows very loud and then gets quiet again, only
to build up in volume as the blue glow seeps into the metal again.
