The Kingdom of Kookien

The northern portion of the Aztec jungle is dominated by ruins wherein
an organized alliance of intelligent monkeys have their stronghold.  Little
is known about their society or about the disposition of their leader,
King Kookien, nor have scholars been able to trace their exact origin.  It is
known that they mostly remain north of the Amagawa river, flanked on the
south by Don Milano's colony and the Aztec Empire, and that they will not
venture into the great desert which is adjacent to their northern border.
History recounts that they have mounted several elaborate military campaigns
against their neighbors to the south, but have always been beaten back to
their own lands.
