The portion of the Thalenwood Forest east of the Great Southern Road is
inhabited by a branch of elvenkind known as the grey elves.  These elves
hail from a village called Greyhaven, a settlement of treehouses nestled in
the boughs of an enormous oak.

Grey elves are an offshoot of the high elves of Trinsic.  They are
physically similar to high elves in most ways, having a stature shorter
than most humans, a fair complexion, a hairless body (except for their
heads) and a lithe frame.  Grey elves usually have gold or silver hair and
purple or amber eyes.

Though they are isolationists and generally distrust those not of their
village (even other elves), the grey elves recognize a need for trade and
permit outsiders to visit their village for business.  However, visitors
should not expect a warm welcome.  Greyhaven is ruled by an archduke who
technically owes allegiance to the king of Thalenwood, but in modern times
this means very little.

The village divided into three main tiers.  The highest is Silverleaf, and
it is where the nobility and rulers of the village reside.  The middle
level, named Blackbranch, is the home of the aristocracy and location of
the wealthier shops.  The lowest is called Amberbough, and it is where most
of the grey elves live and do business.
