The Sas'kwal were a tribe of murlocks living in a secluded mountain dale
along the eastern shore of the mainland. They lived in relative peace with
their neighbors, trading regularly with Westfall, Rogonia and the Ooahu
tribe. When Westfall joined the Naginag Combine and became West Naginag,
the Sas'kwal began to pay an annual tribute to them in exchange for
autonomy. This arrangement lasted for twelve years.

With the bulk of the Combine legions massing in the west, the Sas'kwal
ceased their annual tribute. After a year of waiting, the Second Legion of
the Naginag Combine was dispatched to the Sas'kwal Dale to force their
compliance.

The Sas'kwal fell quickly. Boxed into their narrow valley, they stood
little chance against the spellcasters and archers of the Second Legion.
The survivors were taken captive and relocated to the village of Dje. A
small fortress was built along Barbary Bridge Road just outside the Dale as
a staging point for the occupation of Rogonia.

Today the Sas'kwal Dale is abandoned. The stone structures erected by the
Sas'kwal are crumbling and overgrown. Many believe that a curse was wrought
on the Dale by the master biomancer of the Sas'kwal before she was slain.
Many reports of strange plant monsters have trickled in over the years, but
few people find any reason to plunder the region. It is believed that all
the worthy spoils were carried off by Second Legion troops decades ago.
