Standing to the east of the city of Atlantis lays the impressive structure
of the great library. It is home to arguably the most extensive collection
of books, scrolls and maps in the known world.  Built on top of the remains
of the first library that was reduced to ruins when the city was sunk to
the seabed, the building is both functional and breathtakingly beautiful.
The library sees many thousands of visitors every year including not only
the citizens and the students and professors from the nearby academy, but
also those who travel great distances from outside the dome for a chance to
train as a librarian, or simply to peruse the staggering number of books
that are housed within its walls.
