Primordial Chaos is the deepest portion of the realm of Chaos, bordering on
Purnima and the elemental plane of darkness. It is believed to be the
bedrock of all the planes: the emphereal shadows from which the ancient
gods sculpted the cosmos. Legends abound of the initial creation, ranging
from the sprouting of a primeval tree from which all living creatures
sprouted to the slaying of a primal dragon or titan from which all else was
shaped.

The region shifts from time to time, but there are a variety of features
that emerge that can be used as temporary landmarks. Most of Primordial
Chaos consists of shadows, but there are small pockets that are charged
with elemental magic. Various creatures, mostly elementals and animentals,
inhabit these pockets.

The shadowy portions also differ in density. Some points congeal into
nodules of shadow, or swirl into scouring vortexes of wild mana, or even
boil in volatile pools that can explode when triggered by the wrong spell,
sending its occupants jetting off across the bleak expanse of shadows.
