Subject: The Great Trog Massacre

DANGER!!! DANGER!!! DANGER!!! DANGER!!! DANGER!!! DANGER!!!

*THIS IS A MONUMENT TO THE PEOPLE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES BRAVELY AND
VALIANTLY DURING THE RAGING BATTLE*

It all started as an ordinary experience run with high hopes, but would
soon to prove deadly.

A group of eight adventurers of various skills and classes set out to
explore a cave.  All was well, as they encountered little resistance,
along their trail.  Upon entering the cave they prepared themselves. It
was told that there was no way of recalling or escaping once within the
cave.  With this knowledge in mind, they all gathered their wits and
strengths, and proceeded into the dark caverns.  Along the rocky, dusty
paths, within the cave system, they encountered a trog, who posed no
threat, other than the fact that he needed to be removed in order to pass.

He was quietly removed from his position and the group moved on.

Upon scanning the surroundings, a feeling of dreadfulness swept through
the group.  There, yards away from where the group stood, were several
Trog guards.  These extremely aggressive guards do not enjoy the company
of others, and it is said that one attack from them can tear a fully
grown cow into many pieces.  Knowing all the tales of the Trogs, the
group cautiously moved closer.  The guards must have seen something in
the group's direction because he suddenly came barrelling down towards
them, and the group was discovered...the battle raged forth.  Through
desperate attempts, the group fought and fought, killing many of the
guards.

Though the key factor was the old saying, "There's power in numbers."

The massive hordes of guards rushing and attacking the group, proved to
be too much for mere mortals to withstand.  Many disarmed and unable to
cast any more spells, each group member fought with courage and honor to
their death.  Some sacrificed themselves in an effort to save another
from a death that would soon prove to be inevitable.  Many precious weapons
and massive amounts of gold were lost during the great battle.

The group was mercifully brought back to life by the Gods, for displaying
such courage and sacrifice during the battle.  From that point the group
strived to perform what seemed to be a fruitful and simple task of quickly
gathering lost gold and lost equipment, at the site of the massacre.
Returning within the caves, the group hoped that their newly found
knowledge of the Trog's fighting tactics would prove to be useful... it
didn't.  One by one members of the group were slaughtered along the floor
of the cavern, which now looked like a morgue.  The group failed at their
goal, but stood their ground until death, and that deserves recognition.

No gold or weapons was ever recovered from the site.
