------------------------------------------------------------------------
On Monday, the 20th day of Tarden, in the year 556 of the reign of our
benevolent Dentin, I, Corvus the Brave, did venture forth into the watery
ruins of the Ramanek Continent in search of treasures and quests untold.
After many battles, and much sneaking, I reached the bottom of this most
cursed well. Here I found many dangerous shades, carrying much gear, and I
thought unto myself, I shall relieve them of such a burden, and bear the
weight myself. And so for many minutes I trades blows with a dread
necromancer, until to all observers he appeared pretty hurt! At this I
retreated, knowing that his end was nigh, and that a simple regeneration
was all that stood in my way.
Alas, it was not to be. I returned to my calm and tranquil room to find a
ghastly spectre had taken up residence. No worry, I thought, such spectre's
are made to wander and must surely move on. With the tranquility of the
room diminished, I did not dare to sleep, should my less dextrous limbs
betray my hiding spot. After a few minutes, my magical wards deserted me,
and I still found this foul beast glaring at me in the darkness, his red
eyes laughing in the dark. And alas, I ignored the teachings of the g reat
Clerics of Ralnoth and abandoned patience, and sought to regenerate in
another room, away from such swine of the darkness.
Let this be a lesson to those who travel unprepared, for I had no sooner
stepped out of my room, but was set upon by a flaming demon who cut through
my unprotected body like a warm knife through mher'vhal butter.
And so it is, I awoke as like from a bad dream, granted a new lease of life
by the great Tarrant, and reminded that as close as a treasure seems, one
cannot abandon prudence and patience, when striving for greatness.
