Subject: ALT: iOS Client MudRunner no longer on App Store

Hello all, 

The developer for the iOS lightweight MUD client MudRunner has taken the
app down from the iOS App Store due to time constraints and in my opinion a
bit of tech debt to get over since it's not been updated in over 10 years.

I originally spoke to Jon the developer a year or so ago but became rather
ill myself with kidney issues and also having my stepson move in with me
thanks to this economy.

I wanted to fork - duplicate - MudRunner and create something lightweight
but very customisable for a mobile MUD client, and update the Objective-C
codebase up to Swift and make it an universal app across iOS, iPadOS and
macOS. 

The amount of man hours and developers that have worked on Mush-Z would be


If anyone would be interested in the continuation of MudRunner or a further
universal Mudlet or has any general advice/suggestions since I'm diving
into this head first, I'd appreciate anyone's input.


I realise this board is very quiet but didn't feel right just blasting text
walls into the zt channel.

quite the mountain to compete with so I wanted to let Mush-Z be the
advanced power user client and allow MudRunner to be a really easy to use
and set up client for when you'd might be travelling, on holiday, away from
home, on a commute and just wanted to socialise with other players.

I personally found MudRunner to be a blesssing as I became bed bound for a
while and I originally only had an iMac which I couldn't quite make
comfortable beside the bed..

But I found using a bluetooth keyboard and my iPad or iPhone I could hop on
Alter Aeon or Stellar Aeon whenever I fancied casualy here and there.

There is another alternative for Appleheads like me, and that's Mudlet for
macOS and other platforms including Linux and Android.
