Yet another slew of weird ideas...

conjuration--a spell that combines spirit hammer, charm and summon.
Requires the life force aspect of clerics and the command over elements
that mages control.  Conjuration would make a weak elemental out of
nothing and bind it to the caster's will.  The elementals could be of
different types (fire ice electric), just spirit hammers.  Maybe the little
buggers could have 200 or so hp and sucky nat ac, or the size of the
elemental could be dependant on the caster's level.  The elemental's life
would be limited, and there's always the chance the charm spells
holding its will in check would expire before the elemental itself does

decapitation--a warrior and/or thief skill that allows a characters to
perfrom a final 'finish him off manuever' on a target that is near death,
either 1/5 its hp or 100 hp or so, whichever is smaller. Attempting to
do this would lag the caster a little, and failing to execute it properly
would lag the caster a lot.  Would be worthless against elementals, plants,
blobs, mechanicals, and magicals.  If the circle skill is implemented,
though, this would be a really bad idea...

eat corpse--evil cleric skill allows players to eat the corpses of creatures
for nourishment, instantly regaining a small portion of hp.  Low-level,
but has to alignment dependant

smash lock/break down door--allows frustrated warriors to kick down a door,
rather than picking the stupid thing.  Hitting many medieval-style locks
hard enough will pop them open anyway, and crummy doors like a rusty iron
gate would break loose from its hinges if kicked hard enough. This needn't
be a new skill, just allow kick and bash to target and effect doors.
It Just Makes Sense

guard--allow warriors to guard doors and exits to prevent mobs from
wandering or fleeing past them.  Couldn't stop flying mobs
-
stomp--if a mob is a whole lot shorter than a player, why can't the player
just stomp the snotball?  This would be great to use against dwarves,
sprites and a lot of animals, but it might suck if a big tall god starts
stomping on you...

psionic drain--a player spell similiar to the dragonbreath psionic blast,
only targeted and less powerful.  Probably low-level cleric and mid-level
mage.  Could be stepped, making a targetted spell and an area effect spell
-
vacuum--a mage spell that blows air particles away from the caster and
creates a low pressure bubble around him.  Would be a specific spell type
defense, like ice shield and ground, against breath spells

If you want a cool area effect spell, try a magical nuclear warhead :)
