I also like the idea of an area affect acid rain spell. That said, i can't
see the relationship between captured moonlight and acid rain, so I can't
imagine how using a mooncatcher would increase the damage. If you're trying
to come up with a use for mooncatchers you might consider something like
lunar flare or lunar lance which would be similar to the solar spells but
of course would have to be in view of the moon rather than the sun, and
perhaps do cold damage.
