suggestions:
This is a grab bag of everything that isn't a blatant bug. Some of it may qualify
for bug status, depending on your definition.
Having condition sounds (small wounds and quite a few) in the hit sounds for lance
is highly confusing. This is an old one, going back to when lance sounds were first
put in (I'm actually really surprised its still there). More than once (at time of
writing I've fought about five dragons) I've been tricked into thinking I was still
in combat when I wasn't or that the mob was at a condition it wasn't. Especially
if the mob doesn't die, this is a problem, because the lance sound (and the rest
of combat) out
plays the percentage beeps so there's no way to tell how hurt the mob actually is.
Exp mark (typing exm) could be augmented by having a second alias that only displays
the amount changed and does not stop the counter. My client uses "exmo", and I find
that pretty easy to type. I can get the code for it if desired.
It would be handy to at least have a toggle to turn off the "you can now level x"
or "you should level y" message every time you load in/reload the client. They're
highly annoying, especially if one's deliberately not leveling cheapest class.
Sacrificing corpses should be gagged, especially since there's a sound for it.
Shield block should probably have a sound, even if its just an exact copy of parry
(hat's what I went with, anyway).
Battle cries (sounds/combat/special) drive me crazy. It'd be awesome to have a way
to turn them off without deleting all the files.
gag "In the next room you see:" on l <dir>. Much quicker to not have to read that
every time you look.
gag "The wind passes silently around you with very little effect." from other's tempist
gag "To see the lost exp hall of fame, try the 'exp lost' command." on typing exp.
With the actual butcher/skinning sounds gagged, it'd be nice not to see the "you
can't carry x" messages as well.
The yelling every time demonfire hits sounds rather rediculous.
brackets around channels ([bovine] etc) could probably use to be removed or at least
have an option for it.
You clan/other clan (not a typo): vastly prefer the "you tell the *" line. At the
very least it should be "other clans".
Disabling short id in config still (this is also an old one going back to its introduction)
doesn't put id back to the server-sent format.
The default wall impact being forest-like could really use a change, or removal entirely.
Personally I'd rather have no sound for walking into the wall in an icy cave or desert
than a tree that clearly isn't there.
Retreat not playing a sound is a bit confusing. My version still played the yell
sound when the skill was used.
It would be nice to be able to turn off the verbal announcements of time (six hour
intervals), and just make them text if desired. The light status doesn't match up
with six hour intervals very well (about half of it does) in the first place.
The condensed last line of the who list really threw me off. It'd be nice to have
a config for this to display it both ways if desired, but that's probably personal
preference.
