FAQ 6.8 - What are saving spells? do I want them to be + or -?

Saving spell and other saving throws protect you against various spells
or damage types, such as fire, ice, lightning, or dragonbreath.  You
always want negative saving effects if possible.

Affects: SAVING_SPELL by -3 is much better than Affects: SAVING_SPELL
by -1.  If you get a SAVING_SPELL affect of 3, that's bad, and will
actually serve to make you more vulnerable to spells.
