Usage:
cast diffraction <target>

This spell creates dozens of saucer-sized crystal discs that form a
sphere around the target.  Although the slightly convex discs are
easily pushed aside, they quickly reposition themselves to fill in gaps
once force ceases to be exerted on them.

The crystal is completely clear to the target, so it does not impede
vision, but to onlookers the image of the protected target will look
distorted.

The discs create a layer of magic around the caster which serves to
scramble and interfere with magic.  This makes it harder to affect the
target with spells, as any magic that can get through the layer is
weakened.
