lapidary split <finished gem>

The 'spangler' skill allows you to split a finished gemstone into tiny beads
called spangles. These can be added to leathercrafted equipment and tailored
clothing to bestow the properties of the gems upon them. Spangles are
generally not as potent as mounted gemstones, but they are incredibly
versatile.

The quality of the resulting spangles depends on the quality of the
gemstone being split and the skill knowledge of the splitter. Those with
less knowledge of the skill will end up with lower quality spangles.

Splitting a gemstone has a chance of shattering it, so exercise caution.
