Usage:

Angelic choirs have a myriad of rules within themselves and with other
choirs that prevent them from directly assisting mortals.  Instead,
they elect to provide mortals the tools and means necessary to defeat
evil rather than directly engage them.  Most angels are content with
these regulations, believing that mortals should fight their own
battles, and that angels should remain focused on defeating demonkind.

However, there are young, errant angels who choose live outside of
these regulations.  These outliers are full of spunk and zeal, and
they are able and willing to fight against evil on any front.  These
typically hail from the plane of Purnima.  Being vespers, they tend to
more neutral outlook than their rigid brethern, and these crusaders
are more willing to overlook mortal foibles and unsavory compatriots
so long as they have the chance to strike hard and fast against
deserving foes.

Although such crusading angels are eager combatants, they adhere to a
strict moral code.  They will refuse to fight and immediately leave
the service of any petitioner who attacks other angels, good-aligned
creatures or innocent bystanders.  Crusaders are notoriously
impatient, and if left idle for too long they will leave a
petitioner's service in search of battle elsewhere. So long as
a cleric continues the march against evil, he will have a loyal and
true companion.

A cleric can only have one divine companion, be it a supernal or
an angel, at any given time, regardless of control points.  Crusaders
consider the favor used to petition them to be payment for their
services, but they do require a small but continual sacrifice of
favor to anchor them to their petitioner.
