Death cards, also known as 'get out of death free' cards, work in the
same way as the 'prayer for the dying' spell.  Just before you are
killed, the card will trigger and will return you safely to your last
recall point.

If you are protected by 'prayer for the dying', the spell will try to
rescue you before using a death card.

Each death card only works once, and will only save you from one death.
Death cards will always trigger outside of PK, even if you suicide.

In general, death cards do not affect PK:

- PK arena battles never trigger death cards, even for suicide.

- PK outside of arenas will not trigger death cards.  Remember that
  death cards will trigger if you suicide while PK outside of an arena.

You can occasionally get death cards as a daily gift.

You can also buy death cards with the 'credit buy deathcard' command.
