as a daily gift, add a number of useable items to your inventory.
Brewing supply crates give brewable herbs and spellcomps, while metal
supply crates give several unalloyed ingots of forgeable metals.

Supply crates do not need to be opened - the items they contain are
placed directly into your inventory and the crate vanishes.
