To perform, you must have an instrument wielded, held or worn around
your neck. There are certain large instruments, like pianos and organs,
that can be played as long as you are in the same room. You can play
while sitting or standing. Performing with instruments consumes a small
amount movement or mana, depending on whether or not the instrument is
magical in nature.

The number of notes you can play in a performance depends mostly
on your intelligence and little bit on your charisma.

Some instruments, mostly drums, are rhythm only, and can play only
a single note.

Some instruments, such as bagpipes, have a drone that plays a set
note continuously throughout a performance.

Some instruments are polyphonic and can be used to play both chords
or individual notes.

See: 'help notation' for the ins and outs of musical notation.
